Don’t forget about the BISTM giveaway! The tote bags are totally worth it!
Blouse – Gap | Pants – Gap | Shoes – Lucky Brand via Marshall’s | Necklace – Accessories Palace in NYC | Belt – came with a top from The Limited | Jacket – c/o Holly Haley, independent CAbi consultant
Holly Haley, a friend of mine from way back, recently became a CAbi consultant. She generously sent me this jacket because she thought I could pull off the unique color and style.
I admit, when I pulled a short-sleeved trench coat out of the box I was a bit stymied. Perhaps a short-sleeved trench works in California (where Holly lives) but I didn’t know about Chicago. But then I realized that for those few days we have when it’s 55 degrees in the morning and 80 by the time you leave the office a short sleeved trench is the perfect accessory.
And since today was one of those days, I took my inspiration from What I Wore and threw it on over a simple black and white outfit.

CAbi has some really cute options and their website even allows you to play virtual dress up! Here are some of my favorite outfits I put together.
If you’re interested in shopping the CAbi catalog, contact Holly and she’ll get you set up! Or, if enough Chicago-area people are interested I’m sure we could convince her to come out and do our own shopping party.
Until then, I’ll be figuring out new ways to wear my California-inspired jacket.
Yay, it looks fantastic! I was thinking about how Chicago has some wacky weather so that might work. I know it won’t even close to hack it in the winter! (Nor will I be visiting you in the snow! hahaha)
It just took forever for us to get to the point where it was 90 degrees all day! I have a feeling it will get a lot more play this fall.
For me, a short sleeve jacket would definitely be a challenge! You make it look so easy. Great look.
I adore this jacket! Did you leave it on all day?
Does the website have an option to have a full figure model?
I didn’t leave it on all day. I thought about it though, when my office got cold!
I think the website only has one option for a model, but you should ask Holly if that’s something they’ve talked about!
Hah, I think I would have the same reaction! (“A shortsleeved trench? When will I wear this, in the three days of fall before the snow hits?”) I do really like it, the color is fun and I like it would look awesome over a long-sleeved sweater, maybe a chunky cable-knit? (I am dying over those leopard printed flats of yours, they are STUNNING!)
The funny thing about those flats is that I saw them online but they were sold out in my size. Then I randomly found them at Marshall’s! It’s like they were meant to be mine.
I haven’t tried the trench over long-sleeves yet, but it’s on the list of ideas!
This jacket is super cute! I love the color and the short sleeves! That’s so awesome that your friend thought of you when she saw this piece.

I was so thrilled that she thought of me! And that she picked something so fun and unique, too.
