Inspiration Monday – Closet Surprise

Today is Inspiration Monday over at Two Birds. I definitely needed some inspiration today. I was dragging. So I was pleased when the inspiration photo popped up with this:

Hey, I thought. I’ve pants that are the same color. And I’ve got several white button down tops.
But then when I was standing in my closet (stay tuned tomorrow for a closet tour!) debating which white button down top to wear this polka dot top jumped out at me. Ashlee’s top is a more flow-y and blousy than any of my more structured white button downs so I thought the billowiness of this polka dot top was more appropriate.
Turns out I really like this outfit! And the best part? I’m actually working from home today so I’ll be able to wear this into the office another day and no one will be the wiser! Except you all. And you won’t tell, right?

For those of you looking for casual outfit inspiration, this one’s for you! 
Nothing is classier to me than tweed and a pencil skirt.
A reader recently contacted me and asked for help with a pair of ankle boots she just bought.
Right now I’m pretty happy with my closet. But even so there are days when I stand there and stare at all the hangers and think, “I wish I had….”
I’ve had all of these clothing pieces in my closet for a long time. I keep wavering on whether or not to keep the cardigan and then it keeps staying. 
Don’t you just LOVE red pants?! I been trying to figure out which color jeans I want to get, and I think you’ve inspired me to get a pair of red skinny jeans. Your look is cool… lady on top, rock star on bottom!
I wear these pants a lot more than I thought I would! They’re so fun.

Thanks! I also realized when I was scrutinizing the pic that I think she has a black camisole on underneath her shirt. So I supposed my black polka dots are an homage to visible undergarments!
