I recently ordered this skirt from The Limited when they were having an extra 40% off all their already marked-down items.  I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about pleats considering I carry most of my weight in my hips.

I’m still not sure how I feel about it but I do love that it’s way out of the box in terms of what I normally wear.  This outfit feels very frilly and feminine and I’m usually a bit more tailored.  I think I’ll hang onto the skirt and see how else I’m inspired to wear it.

So, so pretty! I love that pleated skirt, which is just about the most tailored pleated skirt I’ve ever seen! :) I’m also a classic pear shape, so I get what you mean about not wanting to add weight around the hips, but this skirt drapes nicely. I can see lots of combos with this, including a classic black blazer to dress it up (maybe with black booties and tights in the winter?), or pairing it with a black button-down and denim jacket/shirt and a wide belt to make the look more casual. Oooh, how would your black star-print camp shirt look tucked into this? I wore a cardigan backwards with one of my pleated skirts here at http://librarianforlifestyle.wordpress.com/2012/06/12/oti-backwards-inspiration/. Hmmm… maybe pairings with a pleated skirt would be a good one for your “You Pick Wednesdays” series… :)

I love all your ideas! I’m definitely planning to pair it with my black blazer and eventually my chambray shirt. Just have to wait until it cools down a bit here!
