Twirling Toward the Weekend

Friday in my neck of the woods means casual. Typically I wear jeans on Fridays since that’s the only day of the week they’re technically allowed. But since Chicago is on its third day of record breaking heat there was no way I was leaving the house in jeans.
So, I put on my most casual, comfortable skirt. This full jersey knit skirt is as comfortable as a t-shirt and can be dressed up with heels and a necklace or dressed down with a tank-top and flat sandals.
Full, pleated skirts are very on trend right now. This is actually the only full skirt I own! Although, I just ordered some on crazy clearance from The Limited to try out.
We’ll see how I feel about those. I doubt either of them will quite as comfy as the one I have on today!

Right now I’m pretty happy with my closet. But even so there are days when I stand there and stare at all the hangers and think, “I wish I had….”
I’ve had all of these clothing pieces in my closet for a long time. I keep wavering on whether or not to keep the cardigan and then it keeps staying. 
Pairing the fancy sequined skirt with a neutral colored cardigan and nude heels helps keep it from being too bling-y or overwhelming.
The fact that I paired two pieces that could be considered slightly casual but added heels and a blazer makes my outfit work appropriate without being traditional.
I am excited to see how the new skirts look on you! I saw that first one and thought it was fun.
I cannot believe these are coming back in style. I had dresses/skirts like this growing up!
I don’t think I owned a lot of pleated skirts growing up. Hmmm.
