Copycat Friday–White on White
29 Jun
I admit, I did my copying a little backwards. I had pieces of an outfit in mind so I just Googled until I found something that would tie it all together.
At first I was a little annoyed by how all the ‘”whites” in my outfit didn’t match exactly. But after looking at the picture I see hers don’t either! One of those fashion “rules” it’s okay to break: colors don’t have to match exactly!
A few other interesting notes:
-
I do own a white blazer, but since it’s another warm summer day (and the air conditioning in my office was on the fritz yesterday afternoon) I decided to go with this short-sleeved option.
-
And speaking of this short-sleeved option, it actually goes with the shorts I had on last week. Don’t you love things you can wear as separates?
-
Don’t want to wear leopard print heels when it’s hot outside? I don’t really, either. Here’s what I wore on my commute.

Pairing the fancy sequined skirt with a neutral colored cardigan and nude heels helps keep it from being too bling-y or overwhelming.
The fact that I paired two pieces that could be considered slightly casual but added heels and a blazer makes my outfit work appropriate without being traditional.
Ever since I bought this tie-neck top I have been wanting to pair it with these pants.
Today I’m going to share with you one of my favorite ways to this lace dress that I’ve come up with yet.

I adore this, Erin! You did a great job with your take on the outfit! I’ve been on the hunt for a white blazer and a pair of white pants. This is a great look on you, for sure.

Why thank you! I searched high and low for white jeans I didn’t hate and finally found these. They were WAY more than I usually spend but thankfully I had a giftcard that covered everything but the taxes. Sometimes it’s just worth it to spend more to get something that really works, you know?
love your outfit! no matter where your inspiration came from : ) Although, you really did end up finding an “inspirational image” That looks JUST like yours! Props to you! And thank you so much for participating : )
One of those times awesome Google-fu comes in handy
Super cute outfit! And I read your comment about finding white jeans – it was SO hard for me too!! But now that I have these ones, I’m obsessed
I see yours are from Macy’s. I swear I tried on every pair of white jeans there! Which brand are yours?
Oooh this is so classy and fresh! Love it.
Thanks!
Your copy cat is perfect! love the white!! hope you’re having a good weekend!!
Thanks, Katie! I hope your weekend is going well, too!
Do you think different whites go together better than different blacks? My mismatching blacks always seem to bug me!
Good question! Black does seem to be a bit more difficult, but I think if the fabrics and the patterns break it up a bit then it’s not quite as jarring.
Very nice outfit. Chic but simple. Thanks for sharing!
