If I had my way today I wouldn’t leave the house.  I’d crank up the AC in my apartment and sit on the couch watching old episodes of Supernatural.  The heat and humidity was already stifling at 8:30 AM.

Alas, I not only have to go to work I also have to facilitate a professional organization meeting this evening.  What do you wear when it’s going to be a scorcher outside?

Something lightweight!  This top that arrived in my latest Stitch Fix fit the bill perfectly.  It’s 100% cotton and the top is just a little bit sheer.  Unfortunately I need to wear a camisole under it to make it totally work appropriate but otherwise the material is perfect for a hot, summer day.

Sadly, the blazer I plan to wear with this for the meeting this evening is not so summer appropriate.

That will definitely be going on at the last minute, for sure.

Is it hot where you are?  What do you wear when the mercury climbs?

It’s triple digit temps PLUS humidity right now and I think I might be melting! Normally sleeveless is an unspoken no-no in my office but with my boss out of town I am rocking a sleeveless cotton jersey dress today 🙂 I wore a cardigan with it to walk from my car to the building but the cardi went on the back of my chair as soon as I sat down. Luckily I don’t have any meetings today so it will stay there until I walk out this evening!

I’m trying to think if I ever worked somewhere that said no to sleeveless but other than when I had to wear a uniform I can’t think of anything! No spaghetti straps, though. I’m pretty sure I had that rule!

This is such a beautiful shirt, I love the soft blush color and the beautiful detailing around the top. It really dresses up a suit! (I no longer work a desk job, so I’m finally free of the “what do I wear when it gets so so hot out i could melt!?” problem, but pretty tanks under my blazers were always my go-to, and I had one warm weather blazer, with shorter sleeves that really saved me.)

Thanks for reminding me that I wanted to wear my short sleeved blazer tomorrow! Also, thanks for commenting; I have a strange fascination with Alaska (even though I haven’t been) so I’m happy to be made aware of your blog 🙂

I live in ATL and we are staring down 3-digit temps for the next 3 days. I never know how to dress in this weather – it’s so stinkin hot outside and so chilly with the AC inside!!

Wow. The sleeveless comments surprise me! I wear sleeveless almost all summer! When it’s hot I am all about skirts and light tops or dresses. Get the airflow going, you know.

Did you do a new Stitch Fix? Did you show us? Did I miss it?

Love that top from Stitchfix! I discovered the THML brand through Stitchfix and really like it! I enjoy seeing what they sent others!
