You Pick Wednesday – 5 Fun Ways to Wear A Striped Blazer

How to Style a Gray and Navy Striped Blazer
Welcome to the first installment of You Pick Wednesday! The whole purpose of this series is to let you, my readers, tell me what you need help with! Maybe it’s a piece you saw in the store and you want to know could work it into your wardrobe. Maybe you saw something on Pinterest that intrigues you but you don’t know how to make it happen in real life. Maybe you have that one (or two or three) item(s) in your closet that you just never know what to do with. Or maybe you recently purchased something and what to see what else you could wear it with.
Way #1 – Pair it with a bright top, fun shoes, and jeans for a Friday casual look.
Way #2 – Move the color to the bottom and put it with a complimentary patterned top for some fun visual interest. Keep the accessories neutral so as not to compete with the color and the pattern.
Way #3 – Another brightly colored top (pink this time!) along with white skirt, a bright floral scarf and fun but not over-the-top shoes scream fun summer date night or spunky day at work.
Way #4 – A more low-key approach that would work for a cooler day or just when you don’t want to be quite as bright. Solid colored dark bottoms and chambray keep the look more down to earth but the fun shoes give it a little interest. Again, the necklace is interesting but not making too much of a statement.
And Way #5? My own take with my own striped blazer. A solid colored dress in something other than black or white and simple accessories to keep the focus on the color and the stripes.

For those of you looking for casual outfit inspiration, this one’s for you!
Nothing is classier to me than tweed and a pencil skirt.
A reader recently contacted me and asked for help with a pair of ankle boots she just bought.
Right now I’m pretty happy with my closet. But even so there are days when I stand there and stare at all the hangers and think, “I wish I had….”
I’ve had all of these clothing pieces in my closet for a long time. I keep wavering on whether or not to keep the cardigan and then it keeps staying.

Thanks so much, Erin! I love all your ideas, especially #3 with the floral scarf and bright top and #4 with the chambray shirt. I hadn’t thought of pairing it with my chambray shirt! I do love connecting with fellow style bloggers — it helps me get inspired
Putting this together was a lot of fun, so thank you for the suggestion! I agree that connecting with other style bloggers helps you think outside of the box.
I am still looking for the perfect striped blazer. I’m sure it is out there somewhere!

I’m sure it is! There are so many to choose from. What are your criteria?
I like all the ideas! Esp #4. It’s really fun
I have a blazer I need some ideas for, so I will send you an email. Not sure if I can find a pic of it online though…
A similar item or just a picture of you with it on or on a hanger would suffice!
I love all of these looks, Erin! They’re fantastic! I am definitely pinning and saving this for future reference.
By the way, where did you find those shoes? I am looking for some nice navy flats or heels with a nice stripe or polka dot! I can’t find a good pair anywhere!

The polka dot ones are from Madewell! Aren’t they adorable?
Oh, yay!! I just thrifted myself a striped blazer today. I mean, it’s a little bit different because its a blue and white pinstriped blazer. It kind of looks a little like seersucker. But anyways, thanks for the ideas! =)
I think that would work equally well with all the colors here! Looking forward to seeing how you style it.
