OTI: Gingham and Frills

Today’s OTI was a reader submission. Gingham, a twirly skirt, and a cardigan.
I own a gingham shirt and I recently discovered that I love to wear it with this oatmeal colored cardigan. Plus, I’ve been looking for a way to wear it with my white A-line skirt. Throw in a fun pop of greenish teal with my new necklace and my favorite fun wedges and you have an outfit.
However, due to several things I have planned for today (including a party where there will be wine. Red wine. Red wine and a white skirt do not go well together for me) I opted to swap out the white skirt for a denim one. And ditch the cardigan since it’s supposed to be almost 80 degrees here today.

I bought these shoes last summer on a whim. I don’t normally like wedges but for some reason these just called out to me. I’ve worn them so many times since then and almost always get compliments on them. They’re not as crazy as my zebra heels but they’re more practical for summer and can be dressed up or down.
So, which look do you prefer? White skirt and cardigan or no cardigan and denim skirt?
P.S. I’m also linking up with Simply Sarah for her shoes link-up party!

Pairing the fancy sequined skirt with a neutral colored cardigan and nude heels helps keep it from being too bling-y or overwhelming.
The fact that I paired two pieces that could be considered slightly casual but added heels and a blazer makes my outfit work appropriate without being traditional.
Ever since I bought this tie-neck top I have been wanting to pair it with these pants.
Today I’m going to share with you one of my favorite ways to this lace dress that I’ve come up with yet.

Love the white skirt version. And the shoes go great. So does the necklace. Preppy is sooo fun.
I’m having a great time finding all kinds of fun ways to wear this gingham top!
looks great!!!!
I think I would wear those wedges every day.
They are definitely my go-to shoe in the summer when I need a break from flat sandals.
Love that pink gingham!
Thanks!
I love the pink and turquoise together! and I prefer the white skirt version, though the denim is really cute, too!
I secretly (or not so secretly) like the white skirt version, too. I’ll definitely be repeating that one for sure!
I think both outfits are really great, but the white skirt is my favorite. You were smart to avoid the red wine, though!
I love white but I always get something on it!
Pink gingham!
I love the pink and grey paired with the white, with the pop of turquoise. So summery!
Pink and turquoise is one of those combos I never would have thought of. I really like these challenges for making me get out of a rut!
I like the denim look. Because of what you said – less likely for spills/more potential for fun in it
Definitely easier to wash and wear if you spill!
