Another cool, drizzly day in the city. I wore my black and white rain boots for my commute and changed into my gray heels when I got to work. Hooray for having shoe options!
Also, hooray for layers, once again. I was pretty warm when I got to work so I stripped off my blazer.
We’ll see how long that lasts until I’m cold again.
This outfit isn’t brimming with color or any of the latest trends, but you can’t go wrong with classic black and white. And instead of standing in front of my closet for hours I just grabbed something easy. And there’s really not much easier than a well-fitting black blazer and a patterned top with jeans!

Nothing is classier to me than tweed and a pencil skirt.
A reader recently contacted me and asked for help with a pair of ankle boots she just bought.
Right now I’m pretty happy with my closet. But even so there are days when I stand there and stare at all the hangers and think, “I wish I had….”
I’ve had all of these clothing pieces in my closet for a long time. I keep wavering on whether or not to keep the cardigan and then it keeps staying.
Pairing the fancy sequined skirt with a neutral colored cardigan and nude heels helps keep it from being too bling-y or overwhelming.
