Surprisingly Neutral

Cardigan, Necklace & Belt – The Limited
Dress & Tights – Target
Boots – Ciao Bella/DSW
Did you know that black and white (or in the case black & tan) prints can almost be treated as neutrals? I’m serious.
See, the “safe” route with this dress would be to wear it with a black cardigan or blazer. But the fun, spring-y route is to treat the dress like a plain black dress and wear whatever color cardigan and accessories I want! Today I went with fuchsia because that just said “Spring” to me.

Nothing is classier to me than tweed and a pencil skirt.
A reader recently contacted me and asked for help with a pair of ankle boots she just bought.
Right now I’m pretty happy with my closet. But even so there are days when I stand there and stare at all the hangers and think, “I wish I had….”
I’ve had all of these clothing pieces in my closet for a long time. I keep wavering on whether or not to keep the cardigan and then it keeps staying.
Pairing the fancy sequined skirt with a neutral colored cardigan and nude heels helps keep it from being too bling-y or overwhelming.

I love this look! LOVE LOVE LOVE it! And it seems a bit different for you (I mean, not something you would typically go for). It looks great!!!
It’s definitely not as tailored as many of my looks, that’s true. Or maybe it’s because I’m not wearing a blazer
Glad you like it.
I love this look too! I really love the dress. Was it a recent Target purchase?
Actually, I bought the dress on clearance last year. So, not recent.
But here are a few similar ones:
