Aaaaaand, here we are! NYC day 1! We walked along the High Line, through the Meat Packing District, to Washington Park, down Broadway, and ended in Little Italy for dinner. Yum!
This was the perfect outfit for sightseeing so far. And I saw this top in pink on clearance at Old Navy so check it out if you’re so inclined!
New York is amazing. There’s something on every corner, the residential areas have so much character, and I bought a fun new scarf for $5 on the street. Score! Looking forward to seeing what the new two days bring.

Pairing the fancy sequined skirt with a neutral colored cardigan and nude heels helps keep it from being too bling-y or overwhelming.
The fact that I paired two pieces that could be considered slightly casual but added heels and a blazer makes my outfit work appropriate without being traditional.
Ever since I bought this tie-neck top I have been wanting to pair it with these pants.
Today I’m going to share with you one of my favorite ways to this lace dress that I’ve come up with yet.

I love this outfit! I just got a jean jacket – any tips for pairing it with jeans? I like the look you have in this pic. Maybe I could wear it with red pants like yours too? (if I had any)
The key is to wear it with denim that is a distinctly different color than the jacket. You don’t want to look like you’re wearing a denim suit
Dark jeans with a lighter colored jacket (like in the photo) works best to my eye but if you have a darker jacket you could go with lighter on the bottom.
